A Double Standard
2/18/11 – President Obama – On Tuesday, while Hillary Clinton was speaking about other governments beating and arresting peaceful protesters, she did not even pause as a government thug and a uniformed officer violently tackled a member of her audience who stood with his back to her. The wrestled him to the ground and dragged him from the room. He was arrested and taken to jail. His crime – Peaceful Protest! As he was dragged off, he shouted , “So this is America.”
The video of this unfortunate event has gone viral and, once again, America is the laughing stock of the entire World. Ray McGovern is owed a very public apology. There can be no possible excuse for the actions taken against him. Those actions represent the double standard that the American government operates under. How much longer can this charade go on before there is a “Cairo” moment in Washington?
I hope you will take the time to look at the video and read the numerous comments about this most egregious act of aggression against non-violent protest in America. I hope you will take immediate steps to end the double standard.
