Israeli or Gazan Waters?
6/28/11 – President Obama – You are clearly on the wrong side of history when it comes to the Israel/Palestine Conflict. You and Secretary Clinton have given Israel the go ahead to violently confront peaceful protesters who are attempting to sail to Gaza. If there is blood, it will be on your hands! The 10 ships and hundreds of peaceful protesters – many of them Jews – are desiring to sail into Gazan waters. Perhaps you should look at a map where you will notice that the water Israel claims to control is actually off the coast of Gaza, Palestine. Israel's claims are bogus. A perfect example would be if America were to prevent anyone from reaching Cuba simply because America has a base at Guantanamo.
The recent Arab Awakening including two attempts by Palestinians to return to their homeland, should be a wakeup call for America. As I have said in previous emails, Israel is close to being overwhelmed. Protesters in Egypt are calling for the closing of the Israeli Embassy and severing all ties with Israel. The Rafah Crossing is now open. There is tremendous unrest in Syria and Lebanon and Jordan are both continuing to suffer from citizen pressure to force Israel to come to terms with the Palestinians – many of them refugees living in their countries for decades. Palestine will probably receive a majority of votes in the UN this September and you and Israel cannot simply sweep that under the carpet.
Your government is threatening to arrest or otherwise sanction any American citizens who participate in any flotilla attempting to enter Gaza by sea. Talk about bogus! How about the threat from Israel that any journalist who covers the event will have their equipment seized and will be barred from entering Israel for 10 years. Are these the statements of Democratic countries who recognize the rights of people to protest and the freedom of the press? Viva Palestine!
